The three activities
How to use Working Memory

Choose positions, shapes or numbers. Watch each item, wait until the sequence disappears, then tap the same items in the same order. Choose Check my sequence when ready. Start with two items.

Practise together first. An independent check records what the pupil recalls without prompting. Choose “Show again / help” to replay; the response will be recorded as supported. Paused or interrupted questions do not qualify for moving up.

Two complete independent checks with at least five of six sequences correct, without help or interruption, can increase the sequence by one item. An adult can choose the length and pace instead. Keep sessions short and comfortable.

This is practice remembering short sequences. Scores describe these activities only; they are not a diagnosis, a standardised memory assessment, or evidence of improvement in general memory or classroom attainment.
