Free beta

Schools register once for the free beta. No payment details or school licence code are required. Corban Psychology Ltd records the school contact details supplied at registration and any beta feedback submitted. Please do not send or enter student names, photos, records or backup files in registration, feedback or support messages.

Understand where information is stored before adding a student’s words or pictures.

Information inside the tools

Profiles, custom words, photos, timetables, custom stories, step-by-step routines, completion progress and settings are stored in the browser on the device being used. The app does not upload those student records to a Day by Day Tools database. There are no student accounts or automatic profile syncing.

Feelings and support selections are used for the current conversation. The app does not keep an emotion history.

School devices and backup files

Use initials or a nickname and add only information needed for support. Follow your school’s procedures for device access, photos, storage, retention and deleting information.

Exported JSON backups contain the profiles and photos included in the export. They are not encrypted by the app. Keep them in school-approved storage with access limited to appropriate staff.

An adult PIN protects editing within the app; it does not encrypt browser storage or exported files.

Deleting information

Adults can edit or delete profiles, stories and personal tiles in the app. Copies already exported are separate files and must be deleted from the location where they were saved if they are no longer required. Beta access is linked to the school registration used for this service.

Speech

The app uses your browser or operating system’s speech service. Some voices work locally and others may use an online service provided by the device or browser supplier. Check the device’s voice settings and school requirements before speaking sensitive information.

Website visits

The website is hosted with Krystal. Like other websites, requests involve technical information such as an IP address and browser details; the hosting service may maintain access and security logs. If you choose Allow analytics, this website loads Google Analytics to measure page visits and use of the website. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes technical information about your browser and device. We do not add student profiles, photos or communication content to analytics events. Use Analytics settings in the footer to change your choice. Rejecting analytics disables further collection on the page; it does not remove information already collected. You can manage existing cookies through browser settings.

The tools use browser storage for student content and browser storage needed for the tools. The beta is not intended to be relied upon as an offline service. Exported backups are separate files.

Emails and school enquiries

Corban Psychology Ltd receives the information you choose to include in an email enquiry, such as your name, school and contact details, to respond and discuss the service. The enquiry form prepares an email in your email app; it does not submit the form to a student database.

Please do not send student records, photos or backup files. For questions about information held by Corban Psychology or to request access, correction or deletion, contact ian@corbanpsychology.com.

Why we use enquiry information

We use business contact details to answer enquiries and provide support, relying on our legitimate interest in running the service. Where relevant, information is also used to take steps towards a contract or meet record-keeping obligations. Providing enquiry information is optional, but we need a way to reply.

Retention and service providers

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, provide related support and meet any applicable business record-keeping requirements. Hosting and email providers may process technical or correspondence information to deliver those services. Contact us for details of the provider arrangements relevant to your enquiry.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact Ian using the address above to make a request.

If you have concerns about how personal information is handled, contact us first or raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Beta access

The current beta requires a one-off school registration. No payment details or licence code are required. Student profiles, words, photos and activity content remain stored locally in the browser and are not uploaded to a Day by Day Tools student database. Keep regular school-approved backups of information you need to retain.

Beta tester and usage information

During the school beta we record the school contact details supplied at registration, the source you tell us brought you to Day by Day Tools, feedback you submit, and which Day by Day tool is opened by the registered school. This is used to understand whether the beta is being used and which tools are most useful.

We do not send student names, student profile identifiers, photos, daily schedule content, communication choices, story content or other student information with these usage records. Student profiles and custom content remain in the browser on the device unless an adult exports a backup.

School beta records

When a school registers for the beta, Corban Psychology records the school or organisation name, contact name, school email, optional role and referral source. Submitted beta feedback and school-level tool-opening records may also be recorded so we can operate and evaluate the beta, understand which tools are being tested and contact participating schools for reasonable product feedback.

These beta records are separate from student profiles, photos, words, stories and routines, which remain in the browser on the school device unless an adult exports a backup. Do not put student information into beta feedback.

Beta contact and feedback records are retained while the beta is being operated and reviewed, and will be deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed for that purpose. Schools can contact ian@corbanpsychology.com about their beta contact information.
