How can I organise a fair classroom jobs rota?
Choose suitable classroom contributions, make participation accessible and rotate opportunities. The planning sheet helps an adult track responsibilities without turning jobs into fixed labels.

Print page 1 for the activity and keep page 2 for teaching notes and answers or suggested responses.
Use A4 paper at 100% or Actual size. Choose by the task and your class; the suggested range is a starting point, not a curriculum-alignment claim.
How to use this resource
- List useful, supervised classroom jobs and identify any adaptations.
- Agree shared or individual responsibilities and record a rotation.
- Review who has had opportunities and change jobs that do not work well.
Make it easier or add challenge
More support
Reduce the number of jobs and use paired responsibilities with clear adult support.
More challenge
Invite the class to review whether the rota distributes opportunities fairly and propose an improvement.
What to look for
Can every child access a suitable contribution? Use normal school arrangements for names and keep hazardous tasks out of the rota.
Teacher answers and suggested responses
Teacher planning sheet. Check participation and accessible alternatives rather than allocating jobs only to the most confident pupils.
A job can be shared, adapted or declined where unsuitable. Review practical supervision and local school arrangements.
A useful next step
Printing, access and sharing
Allow drawing, discussion, practical materials or usual communication tools where they support the learning aim. Use separate paper if a child needs more writing or drawing space.
